  Davey, thanks, that's what I've found. Plus I've noticed that I'm more inclined to respond to jaikus because I don't feel as though I'm cluttering up everyone's twitter home page by throwing my @replies to the top (well, depending on settings).

  How would you feel about the comments being limited to 140 chars, too?

  I'm trying to quit coffee. It's so hard; as @GeekYouUp says, first thing in the morning I just have to have a filtered coffee from freshly ground beans. Any tips? If only I was just so darn lazy that I just couldn't even bring myself to make a hot beverage of any description...

  Akismet should be fine, though. Just make sure you go in to WP admin and notify Akismet of anything that is spam. I got a little lazy and let it all the 'awaiting moderation's build up.

  The worst part about spam is the email notifications, I could put up with it if I didn't want notification when someone posts a comment (which is a pretty rare occurrence, I haven't posted in 7 or 8 months, so it's always spammy spamsters, these days).

  I was spammed like mad a week or so back but, it seems to have stopped for now - maybe it'll calm down for you soon too. This was on a year old WP installation though, presumably that can make a difference.
